Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where is my data stored?
By default, files are saved as plain Markdown to ~/Atelie/projects/{project-id}/{slug}.md. On first launch you can choose a different workspace folder (e.g., an existing Markdown folder or a folder inside iCloud Drive).
Q. Does anything get synced to the cloud?
Atelie itself never communicates with any cloud. If you want to sync, do it yourself by pushing the workspace folder via git, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, etc. The app does not participate in sync.
Q. Can I use Atelie across multiple Macs?
Yes, if you sync the workspace folder via git, iCloud Drive, etc. Conflict resolution for simultaneous edits is delegated to those tools — Atelie itself has no built-in conflict resolution.
Q. Is there a Windows or Linux version?
v1 is macOS only. Other platforms are being considered for Phase 2, but the roadmap is not yet finalized.
Q. Will Atelie become paid in the future?
The current version (v1.0.0) will remain free forever. A future major version (v2 or later) may introduce paid features or plans. In that event, you'll be notified explicitly when the new version ships, and you may continue using the current version.
Q. How do I report a bug?
Email support@scritt.com. Reproduction steps and the log file (~/Library/Logs/Atelie/atelie.log.YYYY-MM-DD) attached are very helpful.
Q. Can I request a feature?
Yes — email support@scritt.com. We can't guarantee prioritization, but we read every request.
Q. How do I uninstall?
1) Quit Atelie. 2) Move /Applications/Atelie.app to the Trash. 3) Delete ~/Library/Application Support/Atelie/ and ~/Library/Logs/Atelie/ (this removes all settings and logs). 4) The ~/Atelie/ workspace folder contains your data — delete or keep it manually as needed.
