1. Overview

Atelie (the "Software") is an application that runs entirely locally on the User's Mac. The Software does not perform any network communication, and does not transmit any personal information or usage data to our servers.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any of the following information about the User through the Software:

  • (1) Personal information (name, email address, phone number, address, etc.)
  • (2) Device identifiers, IP addresses, device information
  • (3) Usage statistics, operation logs, feature usage frequency
  • (4) Crash reports, error logs
  • (5) Other telemetry information

Unless the User explicitly chooses to transmit data (see §7 below), no automatic transmission of information from the Software to us occurs.

3. Sharing with Third Parties

3.1 Because we do not collect any information about the User, we have no information to share with any third party.

3.2 The Software does not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or any other third-party analytics or monitoring service.

4. Handling of User-Created Data

4.1 Notes, tasks, attachments, and other data the User creates using the Software ("User Content") are all saved as Markdown files in the User's chosen workspace folder on their Mac (default: ~/Atelie/).

4.2 We have no access to User Content.

4.3 If the User chooses to sync the workspace using git or another cloud service (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, etc.), the handling of such sync data is governed by that service's privacy policy. We have no involvement in such sync.

5. Embedded Terminal

5.1 The Software includes an embedded terminal feature that lets the User run shell commands inside the application.

5.2 Terminal input/output and scrollback history are kept entirely in memory on the User's Mac. The Software itself does not transmit this information externally.

5.3 If a command the User runs inside the terminal communicates with an external service (e.g., curl, Claude Code), such communication is the responsibility of that command and is outside the scope of this Privacy Policy.

6. Logs

6.1 The Software writes developer-facing operational logs locally to files named ~/Library/Logs/Atelie/atelie.log.YYYY-MM-DD.

6.2 These logs are stored only on the User's Mac and are not automatically transmitted to us.

6.3 Log files are not automatically deleted. The User may delete them manually as needed.

7. Crash Reports

7.1 The Software does not automatically collect or transmit crash reports.

7.2 We only receive such information if the User voluntarily chooses to share §6 log files (e.g., as an email attachment) when reporting an issue. We use such information only as needed to resolve the inquiry and discard it appropriately afterward.

8. Updates

8.1 The Software has no automatic update mechanism.

8.2 The Software does not perform any external network communication to check for new version information.

8.3 Users are expected to visit scritt.com to learn about new versions.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

9.1 We may update this Privacy Policy in the future.

9.2 In particular, if we make changes that would result in collecting new information about the User, those changes will be explicitly notified at the time of release of a new version of the Software. The User may continue using the current version under the current Privacy Policy by choosing not to upgrade.

9.3 Minor textual fixes or changes required by law are made by updating this page.
